Blue-Leg Tarantula - Phlogius PQ113 - Sling

Phlogius is an unofficial genus of tarantulas that is currently called ‘Selenocosmia’. This genus is known for it’s fast growth rate and awesome webbing.

This species is from northern Queensland and the adults are widely regarded as Australia’s most beautiful. In older specimens for a few weeks to months after moulting the posterior half of the abdomen is shiny blue, the femurs of all legs a lovely dark blue and the rest of the leg (excluding the coxa and trochanter which form the base of the leg) are a nice baby blue. The ocular region has a blue tint and the rest of the spider is dark grey.
